If you’re staying in Tulum town and are looking for a pleasant massage and wellness retreat that is not as pricey as those you might find along the beach, this may be just what you are looking for.
I was pleasantly surprised at my unique experience at the Leaf Luxury Spa at Los Amigos in Tulum town. Not only do you get a massage, but you will indulge in your senses in more ways than one with the amazing spa facility that they offer.
The facility will instantly win you over as soon as you even set foot into the locker room. Everything feels clean, and the ambience and music will ease your mind. As your host guides you along the different rooms that offer a wide range of relaxation and wellness experiences, you will realize that you are in for a treat!
The facility is meant for you to indulge in at least 30 minutes to an hour before your massage, in order for you to feel relaxed before entering the massage room.
Personally, I indulged in one of their special shower rooms more than once. There is a particular shower room where the water is infused with some sort of aromatic essential oil, leaving your hair and skin softer than you’ve ever felt it before.
The main indoor area of the facility includes a hot-water pool, adjacent to an ice-water well. Take 5 minutes and soak in the hot-water pool. Once your 5 minutes are up, jump into the ice-water well. Sounds daunting, but your body will thank you for it! There is something about the hot to cold change that will send your body into an amazing internal balance that is hard to describe.

Of course the sauna and the steam room is a must. Outside, you are greeted with another pool that is meant to refresh and relax. There are actually built in beds at the base of the pool that emit bubbles along the length of your body when you lay on it!

Even as you’re indulging in all of these amazing ‘relaxation treats’, you are in heaven just knowing that the best is yet to come… your massage!
What makes the massage experience so great? Well I can first handedly say that it felt so great that I fell asleep, and my boyfriend rated the massage a 10. The room that my boyfriend and I shared for our couple’s massage was zen, spacious and definitely a “wow” when you first step foot into it.
What’s even better is that you can continue to use the facility after your massage. I was there for a solid 2 more hours making the most out of their little relaxation oasis before saying good bye.
